From our Children’s Home and Widow Village to providing education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for families, each initiative is a step toward lasting change. With the help of our dedicated Haitian partners and supporters like you, we’re meeting needs and helping to create a stronger tomorrow. Our sponsorship, however, is more than just a donation: it is a relationship. The sponsor is actually the “maren” or “paren” to that child - godparents, something that every Haitian child wants to have and something that means the world to an orphan. Whether you can go to Haiti and meet your child or not, the love between a child and their sponsor is tangible and fostered by photos, videos, cards, letters, and most importantly, prayer. Sponsorship is $55/month for the children at Emmanuel and $75/month for the boys and girls in the transition homes. This includes funds for a gift from you at Christmas and in the summer at our Birthday celebration. Periodically, we send cards to our sponsored children, and that is a big, big thrill for them! Videos are always welcome, and in most instances, sponsors receive a video from their sponsored child in return!
It is a sanctuary where they are welcomed into a loving family that mirrors the compassion of their Heavenly Father. From arriving with uncertainty, children blossom into confident, thriving young adults ready to embrace their futures. Through the power of faith, a nurturing community, and God's provision, Emmanuel Children's Home is a testament to lives transformed and hope restored. Accredited by Haiti's child welfare agency, IBESR, Emmanuel is a place where futures are rewritten.
Each widow runs her own business, empowering herself while providing for her children, including girls they’ve adopted from nearby orphanages. The village also hosts the Girls’ Transition Home, offering a safe space for young women who have aged out of orphan care. These women and girls are growing together, supporting each other’s education and dreams, and building a brighter future through unity, strength, and faith.
With a Christ-centered approach, College Emmanuel offers a warm meal and an enriching academic experience for children from both the Emmanuel Children’s Home and the surrounding community. Thanks to the "School for a Year" scholarship program, children from families in need receive tuition, giving them the chance to stay in school and pursue their dreams. Without this support, many could be forced into the restavek system, where children from impoverished families are sent into domestic servitude. Instead, they’re building a strong foundation for higher education and future careers in business, nursing, and medicine, creating opportunities that will impact their lives and communities for years to come.
For many young Haitians, aging out of orphan care means facing an uncertain future, with few opportunities for education or employment. Our Boys' and Girls' Transition Homes provide these young people with a safe place to continue their education and learn critical life skills. Through hands-on experience in Emmanuel’s businesses and ongoing studies in high school and beyond, these young adults are empowered to build a hopeful future. Many are now pursuing careers in nursing, business, and medicine, continuing their education in Haiti and Cuba, and turning the page to a new chapter of their lives.
In response, the Emmanuel Medical Clinic was established in 2018, offering consistent, year-round care to a community that had none. Certified by Haiti’s Ministry of Health and staffed by dedicated local professionals, the clinic provides essential services, including prenatal care and treatments for diseases like malaria and cholera. The mobile clinics, which extend into the most remote areas, bring life-saving care to thousands, including during the Grand Convention when over 3,000 patients are treated in just two days.
What began as small, humble gatherings under tarps has blossomed into thriving communities of faith, with hundreds gathering each week. These churches are more than places of worship—they are lifelines for people enduring the hardships of poverty, violence, and spiritual darkness. Whether responding to natural disasters or providing support during crises like gang violence and food shortages, the churches stand firm, offering hope and faith to a nation in need.
