Sponsoring a child or transition home student…
Each Emmanuel child and each boy and girl at the transition homes has a sponsor to help supply them with nutritious food, clean water, and basic medical care. Our sponsorship, however, is more than just a donation: it is a relationship. The sponsor is actually the “maren” or “paren” to that child - godparents, something that every Haitian child wants to have and something that means the world to an orphan. Whether you can go to Haiti and meet your child or not, the love between a child and their sponsor is tangible and fostered by photos, videos, cards, letters and most importantly, prayer.
Sponsorship is $55/month for the children at Emmanuel and $75/month for the boys and girls of the transition homes. This includes funds for a gift from you at Christmas and in the summer at our Birthday celebration. Periodically, we send cards to our sponsored children, and that is a big, big thrill for them! Videos are always welcome, and in most instances, sponsors receive a video from their sponsored child in return!
