Due to the violent gang activity in and around Port au Prince, Haiti, over 200,000 people have fled their homes, relocating to the provinces where they can find safety for their families.
Many of these refugees have settled near Emmanuel in Chateau on the outskirts of Jeremie, living “on top of” family members in housing that cannot possibly accommodate them.
We are in the process of extending scholarships to the Emmanuel School to all of the refugee children where they will begin or continue their education and receive a warm meal every day.
